It's simple.  I pay this card off every month to a zero balance. I get 2% cash back on everything I buy.  I use this now instead of my debit card entirely, and my annual cash back is well over $500.  I also used it when they offered a zero percent promo on a balance transfer, paid that off within the 15 month promo period, so again, zero cost to me.

If you complain about their high interest rate on balances, you're doing it wrong, but I understand not everyone can pay the balance off every mo. In that case, get a card with a very low interest rate.

My credit limit went from $1500 to $3000 to $7500 to $15500 to $20000.  I've had the card for 4 yrs.  Website is super easy to navigate, online payments are processed instantly, and I've had no issue with their call center resolving any problems.  Overall, I am very satisfied.

I've had the Citi Double Cash card for years. I'm sure there are intro offers they send out that MIGHT have 0% interest for 18 months on purchases, but I've never seen one that didn't have a fee for that. Balance transfers almost always have a fee, so there's one cost that the OP isn't factoring in. Also, in the fine print of the balance transfer is the fact that you don't earn 2% cash back. And, it's pretty sneaky the way they do this, but they process your payment in such a way that if you are carrying a balance (remember, 0%!), and plan to pay it off completely in the allotted timeframe, everything is fine if you never add any additional purchases to the card. If you add any purchases, they post your payment to the outstanding balance first, leaving the unpaid new purchases to then be subjected to their obscenely high interest rates. I know this because that's exactly what I did. Took their 0% offer, paid the fee, paid off a high-balance, high-rate card with the funds (a good thing, really) and didn't use the card for a couple months. Then, I used it for a couple of small purchases and all of a sudden I'm hit with $15 in interest per month. And, it never stops until your balance is zero again, because of the way they post the payments you're making. It's in the fine print, but it's pretty underhanded for sure.

About 700 when I first applied. It’s now 800 because my balance/credit ratio is below 5% on any given month.
