How to dispute an error on your credit report

The dispute that I have filed with everyone I can think of ( all three credit bureaus, CFPB, the comptroller, my attorney general, even called a lawyer) so far haven't gotten anywhere, isn't even mine. I have a son whose first and last name are the same as my husband's; however, they have different middle initials, birthdates, and of course different SS#s. My son lives with us after falling upon hard times. He filed a chapter 7 . A Credit Card company closed our credit cards and on my husban's  credit report they put chapter 7 bankruptcy; on mine they wrote them as a charge off and/or deliquent. Who is going to file a bankruptcy and/ or charge off a $0 balance? I received a response from CFPB that this Credit company is working on our problem and should have it repaired in 60 days. It took them a few minutes to put it there. But it takes 60 days to get it off? If it had been my husband who filed bankruptcy, wouldn't all the credit cards etc. have the negative remarks. My husband and son had 3 accounts with 3 different credit card companies, and only this one went againts us. When we called them in the beginning, they assured us their error would not be on our credit reports. What are they gaining by doing this? They're going to lose two customers that's for sure. Since our scores have already taken a big hit. If someone can convince these people that is not our bankruptcy. We will be closing these accounts. We discussed doing it a year ago. Guess if we would've closed them, we wouldn't have an a chapter 7 bankruptcy we didn't file staring us in the face. We're not denying the accounts are ours. We are denying the bankruptcy. It's not as easy as people think. My son's lawyer thinks it can be taken off and that it's funny since they different middle initials, ages, and SS#s. I know that there isn't anything Credit Karma can do or anyone on this forum. I am just so angry at this injustice. We were planning to buy a new car. Can't with these credit scores.
