I've been using Amex Platinum for 3 years and I have to say this is my favorite credit card. The annual fee is steep but the perks are great.
My favorite part is the customer service. I never have to wait to talk to anyone. The concierge service even got me reservations to The French Laundry.

It pays for itself. Yes it is 450 a year, but we have a 1 year old child. We use airport lounges, we received travel insurance which we used twice, and we used the free tickets. It is more than great.

The best thing about the card is they wave fees every year. Also this card have No spending limit. I charge 80,000 pound in london with no problem. I have this card since 1998.

Do they waive fees upon request or simply becuase you spend alot of money on this card. I have recieved several offers to upgrade from Goldcard, but $450 seems crazy. It refuse to pay that much just to flash platinum at a restaurant. If they waive fee increase for some period of time, I would upgrade.
