Will paying off derogatory remarks help my score
If I pay old accounts and the collection agency deletes the derogatory report from my credit repot will my credit score increase? (Go up in value)

Yup

In a word, yup.  But ONLY if they remove it from your report.

Make sure you get it in writing that they will remove the account from your credit report.

Many times they say they will and then only mark it as "paid".

how long does it take to see an improvement on your score? I have done the same and havent seen a change.
