Why is the date reported updated monthly on a paid collection?
my credit report states that date reported is 2016, this was a paid collection in 2014. The DLA is 2014, but the reported date shows 2016. Why is this?

It shows a current date because the collection agency continues to report every month. The credit bureaus don't put anything on your report themselves; they only show what others have reported to them. Some creditors don't bother continuing to report for as long as they are allowed to, but I've found that most of them do.
