Old credit accounts remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date it was reflected as closed.    A few accounts (Auto Financing, Mortgage, Loans) remain on the report for reference purposes for as long as 10 years, however, they have no overall effect on your credit file after the initial 7 years.   If it has been beyond 7 years, you can request that they be removed, however, if they are positive factors, it serves no purpose to have them removed.
