If you are using a credit card to build credit then you only need to use it minimally. You should use one card every month so you are not penalized for not showing revolving activity. Use the card for a very small purchase (less than 10% of your credit line) let the balance report (statement time) then pay off the balance before the due date if you want to avoid interest (if your card works that way). You do not have to carry a balance over to the next month if you do not want to, nor do you have to pay off your entire balance if you do not want to, neither of these actions are scored.
