0%. they recommend under 30% so that it doesn't hurt A LOT, but it can still effect your scores down to almost nothing. i'm at like 4%, when i run the creidt simulator and pay off credit cards, my scores increase by 2 points. keep in mind the balance reported to the agencies is the amount at the end of your billing cycle, so it's entirely possible to use your card every month, even above 30%, and if your payment clears the balance before the end of your statement, they will report positive payment history with zero balance. this is the ideal situation.
