My TransUnion score reported by Capital 1 is 45 points lower than my CreditKarma score also from TransUnion. Why the large difference?

If you would read the fine print/disclaimer? You would've know that CapOne doesn't even base their credit decision on the very score they provide you ... If your creditor isn't using it? Then it have no real world relevance, same can be said with any other score models ... When you see a score? Find out what model/version is it first before you compare them.

As already said, they use different scoring methods and neither of the scores you mention have any meaning in the real world. Most lenders will use a version of FICO scores.
