The same collection that has been open for 5 years, was closed, reopened, and dropped my score -45.
I have taken no action on the account. I have cause to dispute it, but since it had been on for 5 years I have decided to take no action on it. The only change was the reported closing, and opening of the same account.

It was either resold to another agency, or the same agency is making a last ditch effort to collect.  You can try to dispute it to get it cleared off.

It's shown under the same agency.      How in the world is it allowed for someone to tank a person's credit twice for the same thing?

Agree, dispute again

This is your best bet. Good luck.
