Should I cancel this small fee carrying card?
In rebuilding my credit I started with a Capital One with a $300 limit. It is now $1000, but it has a $39 annual fee. I got this small line about 2.5 yrs ago. FYI - my avg cc life is 11.3 yrs. I have another Cap One with a $4k limit, an AmEx blue with a $1k limit (will ask for an increase if I cancel the CapOne), an AmEx green (no limit), Walmart $1k, GE Care Credit $3.3k, a Dell $3.5k, I'm an AU on a Sears account $9k (shows on my transUnion), and I got approved tonight for a Discover It. I don't know the limit yet. I pay everything off each month except carrying $2k on the Cap One. I can pay that off if it's wise to do. I'm facing a dilemma of wanting to cancel the $1k Cap One (because of the fee), but I don't want that to affect my score since the age of the account also affects the score.
