Should I cancel this direct dispute?
I chose the Direct Dispute option for one of my collections accounts, I had paid the collection but it was still showing on my credit report as not being paid. I submitted the direct dispute on Dec 9th (estimated completion date Jan 9th, reason being creditor agreed to remove my liability), thinking it would only take a few weeks for something to be done. About a month later, the account was still on my report but was shown as paid (though I would have preferred for it to come off my account, at least it was showing as paid). However, I'm thinking this is the doing of the collections agency reporting it and not because of Credit Karma because when I clicked on the Direct Dispute on my report it was still shown as being under investigation. It has now been a month and a half and it still says it's under investigation! At this point, I just want to cancel it since my account is being shown as paid. Is there an easy way to cancel it? Or should I just wait?
