Not sure about closing an account.
My dad opened a credit card for me back when he had excellent credit and it's not so great now. My parents and I all share the credit limit. Now that I'm a college student, I'm concerned about my credit score. That line of credit is my longest and oldest account, but it is almost maxed out and my parents aren't paying off the debt. What should I do? I want to raise my score and I'm afraid that by unassociating with that line of credit my score will be hurt.
