Im 52 and have a no file. What to do?
Always paid cash. Now trying to get a mortgage. I have the down payment but no credit history. Last car loan was 20 years ago. What to do? Thanks.

The first thing that you need to do is some extensive reading on how to build credit. Once you have the information that you need, then you can start building. You are going to have to find a lender that extremely easy going or have a cosigner at hand. You may have to wait a year until you get a decent score. You have a lot of research ahead of you in regard to reading on how to build credit and doing research to find a lender that may give you a loan in your situation. One thing that you may want to do right away is to get yourself a Secured card or even a couple of them, just make sure that they report to all three credit bureaus.
