I took a job in Afghanistan.
Prior to my departure to Afghanistan the Army required that I go to an independent clinic and get a treadmill stress test. I supplied the name of my employer to the clinic and instead of sending the ridiculously high $1,968.07 bill to my employer (who agreed to pay it) they sent it to my home. I had my mail held for 8 months during my deployment and never knew the bill existed. Upon my return I sent the bill to my employer and they have paid it. The bill was sent to collections. What are the chances that a dispute will help my credit score and by how much? My credit score still over 700 but I don't like any negativity on my reports. Should I pursue getting a dispute in place? What are the odds that the dispute will go in my favor?
