I opened up a new credit card a few months back, yet my score hasn't changed... is there a reason?

Depends on the card limit, percentage of balance used, on time payments, etc. Your question is too vague.

I advise you to start reading the articles here to educate yourself.

If the card is being reported to all three credit bureaus you should have seen your scores change. Maybe check out your FICO scores to see what they are doing. It costs money, but is worth it when you are building credit.
