If the mortgage is paid off, they should vanish in 7 years.  As you have discovered, cosigning is not a really good idea.

Unless it was some type of Federal home loan, then the negatives should have been removed 7 years from the negative action. If this is a non-federal loan, then I would dispute any negative information that is older than 7 years.
