how long does it take to get an old collection removed once its paid?
I was told 30 days . Is it possible to get it removed sooner?

According to FCRA, collections paid or not, shall remain on your credit report the same length of time, which is 7 years plus 180 days from the Date Of First Delinquency. In State of New York, paid collection suppose last only 5 years. If it was the collection company "told" you it would be removed in 30 days? Then you need to have in writing to have chance of it being removed, as in most of cases it's in violation of credit bureaus' policy to remove it on the ground of it's been paid.
