You shouldn't remove them.

Assuming they were closed in good standing, you should not remove them as this would negatively affect your score. The more accounts you have, the more extensive your history and therefore the more credit worthy you appear to lenders.

The accounts will show as part of your credit history for 7 years, in the case of any negative information to more than ten years in the case of excellent payment information.  That is just the credit facts of life as was explained in the articles on this site.
