You could try getting a consolidation loan from your local financial institution.  Once that is done, and you've got a few months of good payment history on that loan, your credit should improve.  Just remember - don't go charging up the cards you're consolidating after you've paid them off, or you'll be in worse shape than before.  However, don't close the old cards, the history helps your credit.  Just use the cards once a year for a small purchase (tank of gas) and pay it off.  That wil keep them alive and continue to build good credit.  Hope this helps!
