Were you a joint signer on accounts, but your name and social security number wasn't reported on accounts?  Oftentimes if you're not the primary signer on loans, nothing is reported on your credit unless the primary person doesn't pay. Then lenders come after the secondary signer. Do you have loans and credit cards in your name and under your social security number?
