how can a discharge of a 2nd mortgage loan 6 years ago be addinng to a credit report as a charge off

A discharge and Charge off

are basicly the same thing.  If it was "discharged" by a court, then the lender wrote it off as a "charge off" as uncollectable.  

It will remain on your credit report for at least 7 years and up to 10 years depending on the type of action that was taken. It's part of your credit history.
