Does a debt consolidation reset the clock on a loan?
I have my student loans dated back to 1986 and I am still paying them. However I have consolidated them back in 2002 , how does that impact the age of my credit history for in my report it is saying that my oldest account is about 13 years old, meanwhile I got my first loans while I was in college 28 years ago and they are still active and in good standing.
