Did not use credit limit increase, but credit score dropped several points.
fingerhut increased credit limit on card with zero balance, when I did not use card within 30 days, credit limit was reduced back to original amount, and credit score fell 18 points. WHY??

Probably because your credit limit was reduced, also check to see if they did a "hard inquiry" when they raised the limit. It could always be something totally unrelated too, so look over your reports for any other changes. Keep an eye on your FICO scores too during the credit building process.
