Debt exceeding statute of limitations
I have a couple medical bills that have went to collections. They haven't been reported in over 5 years. The statute of limitations for Iowa is 5 years. How do I correct this on my credit score?
Or how do I go about having the debt forgiven?

The "statute of limitations" and the "seven year credit reporting time period for most negative accounts" are two SEPARATE things. One does not affect the other. It doesn't matter that the sol expired on the debt, it will still remain on your reports for two years unless you figure out another way to get it removed. Having your debt forgiven is a dream, that isn't going to happen. But if you are hounded by collectors about this debt, send them a Cease & Desist Letter telling them not to bother you and read the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act).
