credit card closed debt still owed going on 8 years
I have a credit card that was closed on me about 8 to 9 years ago is there a certain amount of time that passes and I don't have to pay on it still? I have been making the payments it was amount that was lent to a friend that they are paying on slowly due to lack of money they make so they are paying on it. I was wondering is there a limitation to the debt after the card has been closed and certain number of years pass like the statue of limitations. I always have the payments made on time so my credit doesn't get messed up. The reason I am asking is that nothing shows on my credit that I owe still and nothing shows I been making the payments. I figure even if it was closed It still would show I owe the debt or after a certain amount of time passes I don't have to worry about it and they cant harm my credit or come after me for it, but that's why I am asking so I don't do the wrong thing? thanks
