Medical Debt

I need help folks, I'm reviewing my credit report (Equifax) and its showing collection accounts (2) that are for the same debt amount, same creditor, but are trying to be collected by 2 different companies....the only differences (other than the collection companies) are one says "Individual" and the other says "Joint"....is this even legal?
