The process for geyting this card isn't the easiest in the world but also not too terrible. You need to provide them with authenticating documents like a driver's license. I had to submit mine multiple times before it was accepted all while they held my $200 deposit. However what's great is they don't pull a hard inquiry on your credit and as long as they can authenticate you you'll be approved. The card did what I needed it to do. I just had a bankrupcy due to hardship and I needed to start building credit again. It immediately made my credit go up almost 50 points. I set it up on auto pay and kept the balance below 30% utilization. After 6 months my credit was a 650 and I qualified for an unsecured credit card and I closed this one. I'm grateful the is stuff like this available to people trying to recover from unfortunate circumstances. Thank you!

How can I raise my credit score 100 points in six months with a bankruptcy?

Oct 19, 2019
Up 155 points in 7 months

I was at 520 right before filling, 7 months post discharge sitting at 675. I first got a secured cc from open sky since they don't do a credit pull. Then a secured loan from self. Again they don't do a hard pull. Then I leased a new car. They were offering a fantastic deal to get rid of last years model so they were willing to work with me. Lastly I got a target red card. I got all this credit within 3 months of discharge. Always pay on time, and keep utilization below 10%. Hoping to be above 700 in the next 6 months.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. But credit scores are never zero. They don't start that low.

Target REDcard™

I'm sorry I didn't realize there were responses. I actually got the target card the same week my Bankruptcy was discharged. My credit was low. Maybe slightly above 600. I did have a car loan and school loans still on my credit not included in the Bankruptcy and they didn't have any late payments. So it's possible that influenced the decision to approve me so quickly but I really couldn't say with certainty.

They'll likely settle for around half what you owe. Possibly less. Explain the situation and make an offer with payments.

Will score drop again after discharge?

Probably not

I've read other reviews where people said it did go down. Mine went up a little because the balances on old debts were all wiped out. I guess it depends. For instance if it was mainly medical debt it might not increase.
