Consumer Credit Scores Drop Two Points Since January 2010

Credit Karma (<a href="https://www.creditkarma.com">www.creditkarma.com</a>), the consumer's credit advocate, today released its U.S. Credit Score Climate Report with trend data for January 2011. Nationally, credit scores are 667, down one point since December 2010 and down two points from January 2010.

Credit Card Debt Falls 18 Percent Since August 2010, According to CreditKarma.com

Although the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a slightly lower year-over-year 9.1 percent unemployment rate for August 2011, consumer debt continues to decrease.

Consumer Mortgage Debt Drops Two Percent Since May 2010, According To CreditKarma.com

Credit Karma (<a href="https://www.creditkarma.com">www.creditkarma.com</a>), the consumer's credit advocate, today released its U.S. Credit Score Climate Report with trend data for May 2011. Consumer credit card and mortgage spending slowed from a year ago, with the average credit card debt per consumer falling 15 percent to $6,470 and the average mortgage debt decreasing two percent to $172,957.

Student Loan Debt Rises Six Percent Since April 2010

As graduation nears, people can expect to pay more on student loans than a year ago. Nationally, average student loan debt per consumer increased six percent since April 2010 to $29,572.

Credit Scores Down in Q1 2011

Credit Karma (<a href="https://www.creditkarma.com">www.creditkarma.com</a>), the consumer's credit advocate, today released its U.S. Credit Score Climate Report with trend data for the first quarter of 2011. Nationally, credit scores have fallen two points in Q1 2011 to 665. Additionally, nine states have fair to poor credit scores of 650 or lower, an increase of two states since January 2011.

Credit Card Debt Decreases 15 Percent Nationally

Credit Karma (<a href="https://www.creditkarma.com">www.creditkarma.com</a>), the consumer's credit advocate, today released its U.S. Credit Score Climate Report with trend data for February 2011. Since January 2011, credit card debt amongst consumers with an account has remained the same. Since February 2010, credit card debt decreased 15 percent to $7,168 nationally with every state lowering its credit card debt.

Consumers Lower Credit Card Debt Eight Percent In 2010

Credit Karma (<a href="https://www.creditkarma.com">www.creditkarma.com</a>), the consumer's credit advocate, today released its U.S. Credit Score Climate Report with trend data for December 2010. Since January 2010, credit card debt amongst consumers decreased eight percent nationally to $7,404. Additionally, consumers in eight states paid down their credit card balances by more than the national average of eight percent since January 2010.

Credit Scores Down Four Points Nationwide From January 2010

Nationally, credit scores are 665, down one point from October and four points from January 2010. Five metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) — Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, New York and Seattle — had a credit score decrease greater than the national average since January 2010.

Consumers Remain Focused On Reducing Credit Card Debt

Nationally, credit card debt amongst consumers with a credit card decreased seven percent since January 2010. In addition, consumers in seven states have paid down their credit card balances by more than 10-percent since the beginning of the year.
