What is Intuit’s approach to Privacy?

Intuit believes everyone has a right to privacy.

When you work with Intuit, you get access to a platform of benefits powered by our innovative use of data that protects your privacy while powering your prosperity with Intuit. We work to create innovative ways to put your data to use while protecting your privacy.

How do I exercise my data rights? You may request data rights at any time by either visiting our privacy site or following the instructions in our Privacy Statement. If your inquiry is specific to Credit Karma, you can get more information here.
Will Credit Karma members going forward have an ‘Intuit account’?

Nothing changes about how you sign up for or log into Credit Karma. You can continue to use your existing login information for Credit Karma to sign into your Credit Karma account.

If you don’t currently have a Credit Karma account, and you would like one, you can sign up for free.

For additional benefits of the Intuit platform, Credit Karma members can create an Intuit Account at any time by going here.

Will Credit Karma share my data with Intuit?

As a new part of the Intuit platform, Credit Karma members will now receive the many benefits of the Intuit platform. To help you take advantage of those benefits, your data will be included in the Intuit platform when you use one of Intuit’s products or services, including Credit Karma.

Here’s what we mean by “platform” – when you choose to share data with us, we store that data together in a centralized way, not just within the individual offering(s) you’re using. This means your bookkeeping details from QuickBooks, budgets from Mint, and recommendations from Credit Karma all live together.

This goes for everything except the data you share with TurboTax  – that stays in TurboTax and never goes anywhere except to the IRS without you telling us it’s okay first.

We’re constantly striving to create personalized experiences that help you make financial progress in ways that are the most important to you. Keeping your data in one place like this provides a holistic understanding of your financial situation. This lets us help you find more money, save time, and have more confidence navigating your finances.

You can learn more about our platform and how we store and use your data in our Privacy Statement.

Where is my data stored?

With certain exceptions, for example your US Tax information, Intuit may store and process your personal information in the countries in which it operates, including the United States, all in accordance with applicable law.  It may also store your information with service providers in other countries to the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations. Some of these countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country.

When we transfer, store or process personal information outside of your country, we take appropriate safeguards to require that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Statement and applicable law.
