Hi all,
Having just moved to the US, I've just started building mu Credit Score. However, I still cant pull a number since I have a "Thin File".
So, with two shiny new Credit Cards taken into use last week, when can I expect to see some numbers?
And, what would be a realistic Credit Score after 1 year? (Assuming everything is paid on time etc.) Can I reach 700?
Thanks

Thanks,
So anyone who has a guess on when I can begin to see some figures?
Maybe after one or two "billing cycles"??
Anyone else who has started from scratch?

In short, it is unlikely that you will have a score of 700 with only two new credit cards after 12 months.
The average time an account is open, the number of open accounts, the number of accounts in your history, and not having a mix between revolving and installment credit all will hurt your score.

Hello Jonas,
I had moved to US in 1990. I had started my credit history with a secured credit card where I had deposited $1000.00 to get a $1100.00 credit card. Over time I had bought 3 cars, 2 homes on bank loans. At this time I have about 4 credit cards worth $ 55000.00 but owe only $5500.00 on one credit card. I have never ever missed or late payments on any of my loans and now after 20 years since I first started my credit account I have a credit score of 778. So you have a long way to go. Just do all the right things, have patience and you'll be there. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
