How do i protect my credit from leins that are a family member's with the same name & address as me?
Good question? Vote for this

I share the same first, middle and last name as my father. We also have the same legal address. recently leins have been placed against him from collection agancies. However because we have the same name and address they have been placed on my credit report. The ones in the past I have been able to dispute and change. I fear that more liens, that are his, will end up on my credit report in the future. what can I do to protect myself. I've been told I should change my name and or address. But I don't know if this is the right route to take.

They should have different SSN. If you see one appear on your report, dispute it.

well lets see your date of birth and ssn should help somewhat and find out who your family members owes and make sure that they have the correct information in there files, i would not change my name but maybe address would not be a bad idea, like a p.o.box for example. to make sure your not getting his problems.
