my credit card has been paid off by my disability insurance on the card, yet the delinquent history remains on my credit file. I informed the credit card company that I was disabled and submitted my insurance claim before my account became past due. Now my credit score is extremely low as a result of the insurance company taking so long to pay off debt! I had no income to make payments during the process, and I told the credit company that daily when they called me incessantly everyday! I have disputed this history with Experian, and I was able to submit a statement explaining cause of delinquency. What more can I do? Thank you

Unfortunately the account was delinquent. And you can't really do much to have it changed. Paying it off got you on the road to having it stop affecting your credit later down the road.I know saying it now doesn't help, but acting sooner to have the account frozen to post pone payments would have been the appropriate thing to do. But it comes down to the unwritten rule that if you make exceptions for one person, you may have to do it for everyone. But it simply comes down to that it in fact was delinquent.

will my explanation for the delinquency help? will potential future creditors or employeers consider my statement/reason?
