My checks were garnished twice for two separate credit cards and both stopped after a few monthes. Does this mean my credit cards are taken care of now since they have stopped garnishing my wages? And when will it appear that they are paid off and I have a zero balance?

if the garnishments have stopped then I would say they are paid off now. However they will still show as a negative mark on your report for 10 years from the date they were paid in full. Had it been just a regualar negative acct it would have been 7 years, but garnishments are issue thru the courts and considered a public judgement that stays on record for 10 years.
