What credit cards will deny you automatically based on previous bankruptcy?

Cap one, but they charge fees and low limits, sorry.

Why when I paid off my bad debt did it lower my credit score?

because you forgot fo do a pay for delete agreement before payment.  try a good will letter. recent collection activity, you just shot yourself in the foot, old collection is better than a recent payment on a collection.

I have a secured card and want to get an unsecured card next, how long should I wait?

Cap one never raises limits, orchard makes you wait 18 months, low credit lines try a credit union generally 12 mos. I had an orchard while recovering from id theft, orchard refused to go unsecured after 9 months 200 limit , USAA gave me a 2500 limit on the spot unsecured.

Credit Cards-What to keep open

just dont close your oldest card, closing accounts will hurt your debt to credit ratio, sock drawer buy a burger and pay off every 6 months to show activity.

How come Karma tells me that I can get a C.C. based on my excellent credit score but I was declined

credit is your history, not just some crappy *** score.  760 with 6 months of history means nothing at all, just a score.

My credit score is 617. There are different ratings on Credit Karma as to my credit status.

CK said my sister was 618 trans risk score, toyota pulled her TU and got a 726 got tier 1, CK is informative but never trust it for real scores. way of FAKO to FICO

I need to refinance my car immediately. Any reccomendations on a bank?

yup credit union, do you have any military in the family? USAA is great or navy fed

Response posted 1 year ago

Would I qualify for an auto loan with a decent rate?

Where did you get 660, CK said my sisters transrisk score was 618, dealer pulled her she was 710-740 on all bureaus.   Pay off your card and dont use it for 30-45 days so bureaus update the info and bring score up   I would also recommend joining a credit union, they will help you more than any big bank will, better rates and you work directly with the loan officer incase any issues arise to guide you.

Paying off repossession or go to court? or bankruptcy? HELP!

The first thing you need to do is demand a bill of sale proving what they sold it for.   The next thing to do is see if they violated your contract.   The amount you are describing is most likely from small claims. Are you dealing with a finance corporation or a little car dealership? A judge will never take enough to make it so you cant fend for yourself rent etc What state are you in? Bankruptcy is a last case scenario, 5 or 6 thousand dollars is a stupid reason to go bankrupt, count on a $1200 payment to a decent bankruptcy attorney for a chp 7 before he/ moves. Personally I would try and get 3 or 4 thousand from student loans as a living expense and offer a settlement in which they agree to consider the account "paid in full " and "agree to remove all derogatory comments from all bureaus within 30 days of payment reciept ".  Let them know your game plan.

all my cards are high interest rate ones, is it a good idea to do balance transfers & condense cards...

credit union redit cards are half of the apr then the big banks lol. my usaa is 7.9+prime navy fed is the same. Never close your oldest account, but if its not the newest go for it.

does anybody have a USAA credit card?

They have different credit requirements active duty/reserve/separated/civilian I am reserve   CK score 740 I got 1 3000 dollar master card platinum, applied for world but apparently you need a 5k min limit, ill call in 6 months to get an increase   18 months since id theft recovery, 18 months of credit history. I spoke with underwriting directly and they were able to help way more than customer service, normally they dont let you do that. My checking/savings/insurance are with USAA

its fair

How can I make my score even higher?

hey, guess what you are tier 1 and get the best rates, increasing score is just bragging rights at this point, not worth the time.

Repo with no miss payments

yes notify local  police car was taken without permission, i doubt they will do much as no one got hurt and way after the fact, get a report  issued. Next call  creditor and tell them where you are and that vehicle was stolen and you have a police report to prove it. You are not responsible for anything after vehicle taken without permission.  Get someone authorized to pick up the car and keep bank in the loop, that will be a pain if you are only person on reg though.

Scammed. How do I move forward?

call your card companies ask   for debt repayment program details. they often will work with you, citi and amex are hard a##e# though. You were scammed, but as they card accounts are not fraudulent you are SOL. You could also get a debt consolation company, make sure non profit and BBB accredited this time.

My son is 17 and would like to start establish his credit, what is the best way to start doing that?

tg read the new card regs  !!!!!!! he has to be 21 years old for unsecured without cosigner. I would call your bank  have a few cards issued to him, activate and cut them up. piggy back your credit profile. Maybe cosign an amex zync that has to be paid off monthly
