that depends on you. I was in the same situation at 22. If you get credit, pay it off on time, apply for more credit when you are eligible. You don't have to use it, it is just good to have more available so your debt to income ratio looks better. Never carry a balance, it will hurt your score. I am 29 now and have a score of 738 with 20+ in credit, but I have a 1% usage on all of it. My average credit line is only 1.1 years. Keep working at it and you will have it up in no time!

I am 29 with a credit score of 738, this chart means nothing if you pay your bills on time every time. Don't count yourself out because you are young and the statistics don't match up.
