Can someone confirm what "Everyday Purchases" really are? I have the Chase Freedom @ 3% & it's great. However, 5% is better. So the question, the $6500 spending needed to get the 5% cash back - is it the TOTAL spending (like say rent) or does the $6500 NEED to be part of the "Everyday Purchases"? Is there a list of what these "Everyday Purchases" are or is it as clear as they say, only in Supermarkets, Gas Stations & Drug Stores? I don't have a car so gas is not a big factor for me. However I Dine out and have food delivered all the time. I wonder if these would fall in the "Everday Spending"?
I ask because Chase freedom has like 15 catagories, your top 3 sending cataories get the 3% cash back. All others 1%.
Thanks in advance...

I've had the card for 3 years & just shopped around to see what is available, I made the right choice. Some cards go as high as 5% cash back but are extremely limited. For example, the 5% cash back ONLY kicks in after $6500 in purchases (for that catagory). Another is just 5% cash back for gas ONLY. This is a perfect card for low spenders, with the highest return. It's limited in that you only get 3% up to $600 in purchases (in the catagory). Hence it's great for low spenders... it's rather hard to spend over $600 a month on groceries (gas another story).
