I was very happy to have found the HSBC Credit Card. They also issue Credit Cards under the Orchard Bank Name. The reason I was so happy to locate the same card with a different name is that Orchard Bank is to widely advertised all over the internet as a Card for people with Bad Credit. I see it on Facebook, Google Searches, almost everywhere I look in reference to finances. And I am sure most other people see it advertised (or over-advertised) way to often.
I believe that all of the ads for Orchard Bank Credit Cards as being issued to people with Very Poor Credit is beginning to attach a stigma to the Card. Many people may not care, but I feel more comfortable making a purchase with my Household Bank Card which appears to have the same terms as the Orchard Bank Card and I have not seen the Household Bank Card advertised anywhere.
I got a $200 Secured Card with a Credit Score of around 636 and a recent bankruptcy.
I was rejected by Capital One even for their Secured Card before I found the HSBC Mastercard.
This Card is a great option for people with bad credit who do not want the Orchard Bank Brand due to the over saturation of ads and promotions labeling the card as a Symbol of Bad Credit.
Many thanks to HSBC for the option!!!!
