Wrong type of bankruptcy reported for auto loan?
I filed a Chapter 13 almost 5 years ago. It is due to be discharged sometime in the fall of 2015. My auto loan is reported as a Chapter 7 instead of a Chapter 13. I have paid off almost $20,000 on my vehicle with only $1,450 left on the loan. Would it help my credit score if they reported this as Chapter 13 instead of Chapter 7? My score is currently around 580. I want to buy a new car next January.
