If you settle your debt for less than the full amount your credit report will reflect that. Same for paid in full. It looks better to be paid in full. Settled for less also looks better than never paying at all. If you pay in full you might be able to get them to delete the account altogether from your credit report which is even better. Somewhere on this site, sorry I dont recall where they are, are examples of pay for delete letters. Hope this helps
