Maybe,

depends on how you go about financing it and weather she will be on the loan. 

I would suggest that you work with her to get her credit issues fixed before you apply for a mortgage in both your names.  It may not take as much work as it seems.  Not knowing what the issues are, i can't give specific advise, but you will both be better off in the long run if you get her credit straightened out before taking on a mortgage or any other joint credit accounts.
