Most likely, yes. Your best bet is probably to keep the secured card for at least six months or a year after getting the unsecured card. Your credit will take a hit whenever you cancel a card, especially if you cancel a card you've had a while. But once you've established and used other credit, your score is probably going to be able to absorb the shock better.
