Why such a large inpact from a hard credit inquiry?
I had one hard credit check in the last 5 years and my auto credit score went from 907 (excellent) to 810 (poor). Why such a large drop? There were no other factors that changed in the credit history

inquiry shouldn't change anything more than 10 points. I don't think that's what caused it, especially considering inquiries fall off after 1 year.

I agree there should not have been such a large change.  Only the Auto and Home owner insurances scores had significant drops. From what I read online, it appears that a hard credit check is heavily weighted as a factor. I didn’t find any logical explanation why. It could be Credit Karma just has a scoring error. Too bad Credit Karma doesn’t allow us to contact them.
