Why isn't there a comment section for consumers to explain an error on their part?
ie: Pd. state taxes on line, received a number on submitting. No further contact from Tax office.3 months later receive a call from collection agency that I owed taxes. Evidently it didn't go through! Received no prior mail or email notice from Ind. State tax office or it would have been paid immediately and not turned over.

You can send a short notice to each of the credit bureaus for them to put in your file.  No guarantee it will have much influence, but you can try.
