Check credit score simulator.

Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

The credit score simulator on this site is a fabulous tool foir seeing what certain actioins may do to improve or damage your credit.

But, before going there, go to freeannualreport.com and get your 3 credit reports.  Go over them thoroughly and file a dispute on each error with the credit bureau reporting same.  It is not unusual to find mistakes on your credit reports, but it is up to us to keep track of our credit and make sure the reports are true and accurate.

If you have a credit card, work on keeping your utilization at or below 20% of the available credit rating and pay the bill in full when it comes in every month.  Try to not carry a balance on credit cards and try to avoid even remotely coming close to maxxing out the card.

Make all payments (rent, utilities, credit cards, etc) on time every month.  Late payments hurt.

If (and the rest of us cannot see your report here, fortunately) you should happen to have student loans, those things will stay with you the rest of your life until they are paid in full, even into your retirement years.  Get them paid as quickly as possible.

And do take advantage of the many tools on this site so you can play with what might happen to your credit if you do something (good or bad) and you can get the results without the pain of actually making that move.  Big help!!

Hope this helps you.
