why has my credit score suddenly dropped over 15 points?
I dont understand why my credit score has dropped suddenly. The only things that have changed are - 1. I sold my house and 2. I have paid of almost two thirds of my debt. . . ???

Because you sold your house...

and paid down your credit.  its an anomily of scoring. major changes always seem to drop your score for some reason.  Wait a while (30 tp 60 days) and it should go back up. you may need to open a couple of new lines of credit for it go back up to where it was before.
