You will receive a letter soon telling you the reasons for the denial.  Credit Karma is free for us because the credit card companies that advertise here pay for the site.  Also, Credit Karma is here to TEACH how credit works and the credit scores here are based on partial information, which is fine for that purpose,  I highly recommend taking the time to read the articles here so can get a good understanding of how credit works.

Don't pay attention to the recommendations on this site as you now know. They are more of advertisements than preapprovals. If you want to see if you have a decent chance of getting a credit card, go to the website of the credit card company and check the preapprovals. Keep in mind that some credit card websites do not have accurate preapprovals either. Some site though like Chase and Capital One are usually pretty accurate.

The credit card company has more information than what Credit Karma has.  For instance, when you apply you generally have to provide an income.  Which doesn't show up on your credit report.
