Sometimes it just depends. I know for me, it was better for me to go through the dealership, because sometimes they have access to several different banks as opposed to going directly to just one bank after another and suffering a series of hard inquiry hits to your credit score. Also, it depends on what they're willing to offer you as far as an interest rate. I'd suggest maybe asking your bank what kind of interest rate they might be able to offer you.

If you have perfect credit maybe shop around at banks. If your credit isnt the greatest definitely go to a dealership. Remeber that FICO scores will be used, not the scores that you get here.
