When will Credit Karma remove the 1 derogatory remark from its report?
The one health care related account placed in collections has been fixed. It never should have been placed with a collections agency. My insurance provider paid the amount due to this unscrupulous pathology laboratory, but Credit Karma did not remove the 1 derogatory remark. My score, however, was corrected; when will this erroneous comment be removed?

Get in contact with TransUnion

Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

CreditKarma gets the credit information from TransUnion, so you should contact them.

Make sure you get your annual free credit report from them (you can do so by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com). Just remember to identify your derogatory mark as it appears on that report, and you will get instructions on how to get it removed.

The best way to get it removed, is by asking the collections agency to remove it (but sometimes they refuse and you have to contact a lawyer to do it for you).

PS: Check that the other two bureaus don't have that derogatory mark (Equifax & Experian), because you would have to the same as TransUnion (you can get free report for those on the same webpage I mentioned above).

Removal of negative accounts can take time, often 30-90 days. I've found that the best way to deal with TransUnion is through the BBB. If you don't get any help from them after 30 days you might want to go BBB complaint route.
