When can I refinance?
Being uneducated when it came to purchasing my car would be an understatement. I was young and just wanted a car so I drove off the lot completely upside down. I got an interest rate of 24.99% and the car was 13,999 on the sticker and ended up being almost 18,000 after taxes and such. I've been paying on it for well over a year now and I owe 16,000 now and the car is only worth about 8,000 - 9,000. I would never surrender the car so that's not an option as now I have 700+ credit score and fortunately I have the finances to afford my $500 a month payment. I've been trying my best to pay additionally toward my principal and I've paid over $5,000 towards my interest so far. I'm not very knowledgable with this sort of thing and Ive regret the decision I made to even buy the car ever since I purchased my vehicle. When will the interest part be over and done with? And when would be a good time to refinance? I know that no bank or dealership would refinance me right now. As far as I know anyways. I've made a mistake and I appreciate any advice.
